I started my doctoral studies at the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University in the Fall of 2007 after working in industry for nearly 10 years. I am currently in my fourth year of study in the Management Information Systems (MIS) department and will enter the job market this year. I was awarded a research grant for 2010-2011 from the Purdue Research Fund, allowing me to focus entirely on my research in my fourth year of study. My main interest is in information security, particularly those issues that can be affected by management. I am also interested in strategic management and electronic markets.
In regards to teaching, I was presented with a Certificate for Distinguished Teaching for a course on Programming for Business Applications I taught in Fall 2009 at Purdue. I also have classroom experience from being a management lecturer for an Introduction to MIS course in Spring 2007 at Cal Poly, SLO. My Teaching Assistant (TA) assignments over the last three years have been quite involved, especially my role as TA / Mock Client / Project Manager for the Systems Analysis and Design course here at Purdue.
Given that Information Security is my primary area of research interest, I became affiliated with the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS) here at Purdue University early in my PhD studies. CERIAS is a leading multidisciplinary organization for advancing cyber security research, education, and awareness. I attend weekly CERIAS research workshops, giving me the opportunity to stay abreast of the latest academic and industry research.
